IHHH - THE MAGICAL RATIO
With classical training in percussion, and with a large part of his career as a jazz drummer, Falanga only recently decided to explore the possibilities of electronic music.
IHHH is Carlos Falanga's experimental electronics project, born in Buenos Aires and currently based in Barcelona. With classical training in percussion, and with a large part of his career as a jazz drummer, Falanga only recently decided to explore the possibilities of electronic music. An Octatrack sampler was at the center of the process and The Magical Ratio (ZABRA009) is the result of this transition. Recorded between 2019 and 2020, the 2-track EP reflects Falanga's demand for testing different sound design and a compulsive attempt to extract possible rhythms and harmonies from abstract textures and granularities. More or less directly, we could think of big names like Haxan Cloak, Raime or the early works of Demdike Stare. At the same time, there is no guarantee that this is a type of music that tries to respond to influences. A certain virgin look prevails, from someone who has just arrived and experiences without a net, at his own risk and through new means, as an exercise in art brute. That is the uniqueness of IHHH.
