Inscribed in an imaginary that transports us to the activity of nightclubs, Spectrum Awareness blurs our expectations in the way it presents and manipulates the various elements that make up this universe: laser, glitch, drone, and loops. The partnership between João Pedro Fonseca, Carincur, and João Valinho proposes the aesthetic expansion of the territories of music, plastic arts, and performance in an invitation to sensory immersion where improvisation is the driving force. Presented to the public at the end of 2019 as part of the Temps d'Images festival, Spectrum Awareness has taken residence in various spaces throughout the city, demonstrating the versatility of the scenic and performative device they use. The transformation of the occupied space is, in fact, the central element. Within this space, a ritualistic experience unfolds, driven by the pulsation of dense layers of texture and melody exposed through voice, synthesizers, and percussion.
